School of attracting investments for Western Ukrainian local authorities

On September 18-20, 2014 was conducted the training session “The motives of investment in local authorities – what investors are looking for?” under the project “School of attracting investments for Western Ukrainian local authorities.”

Yavoriv City has become one of 12 Western Ukraine cities with the population between 10 and 50 thousands, which were selected to participate in this project. The “School of attracting investment for Western Ukrainian local authorities” is executed by the Malopolska Institute of Territorial Governments and Administration (FRDL MISTiA) from Krakow in cooperation with Ukrainian partner “Institute of Political Technologies” from Lviv with the financial support of the Polish aid for development Program of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

Representatives of the Yavoriv City Council and Local Economic Development Agency of Yavoriv region participate in project activities. Because of the project in Yavoriv will be prepared and published catalog with investment proposals, created an internet portal for investors, developed a plan of investment promotion etc. Participants of the project will take part in series of training sessions and become familiar with the best practices of attracting investments in Polish cities.

Next training session “Analysis of the investment potential of the city – what we have to offer?” will be held on October 16-18, 2014 in Lviv. Realization of such projects will increase the level of competence of local authorities in attracting foreign investment, which in its turn will contribute to area economic development.
