3 of March 2016 in Yavoriv was held round table   concerning local government reform and territorial organization of power, decentralization of powers and resources. The event was organized by Local Economic Development Agency of Yavoriv in frame of Ukraine Peace and Reconciliation Initiative which is implemented by the Institute of Peace and Common Ground with support of the Swiss Confederation.

The round table  was held with the participation of Major of Yavoriv, representatives of local authorities, heads of medical and educational institutions, directors of enterprise, public activists and representatives of local mass-media. Participants of the meeting sought a compromise around the theme of community associations. All participants agreed that legislation on this matter is still not perfect, but the process of local government reform is inevitable and must find common interests and needs of the community.

In frame of Ukraine Peace and Reconciliation Initiative in Yavoriv district was held a series of introductory workshops and dialogues for representatives of local governments, public authorities, representatives of NGOs, active citizens and journalists. The aim of these measures is to acquaint with the feature of decentralization of power and finance, to create conditions for the reform of local government, and to discuss the pros and cons of reform, to find new forms and mechanisms of cooperation to overcome misunderstandings and conflicts.
