In Yavoriv was held a seminar “Public activity: its meaning, role and prospects”

13 November 2014 in Yavoriv was held a seminar “Public activity: its importance, role and prospects” with active citizens, representatives of NGOs and local governments. The organizers of the meeting was the NGO “Civic Council” Yavorivshchyna” and the Department of Information and Communication of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Seminar organizers set a goal to enhance society in Yavoriv district, establish cooperation between Regional Administration and NGOs of Yavoriv district, share experience and knowledge among representatives of NGOs and demonstrate the capabilities of their development.

With welcoming speech appealed director of Information Activities and Communication of the Lviv Regional State Administration Dmitry Posypanko and Deputy Head of  NGO “Civic Council “Yavorivshchyna” Iryna Kuropas who invited everyone to participate actively in the seminar.

In the first part of the seminar Chief of the Access to Public Information in Lviv Regional State Administration Dmitry Arkhypovych talked about strengthening active and democratic society. The representative of the Center of Public Advocacy Ivanna Fedynchuk dealt with state procurement and public control tools for its implementation. Maria Vahila Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communication of Lviv Regional State Administration continued the theme of community-authority dialogue. 

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to NGOs potential development. Head of regional office of the International Fund “Vidrodzhennya” in Lviv Oksana Daschakivska described the existing grants for civil society institutions. Orest Mykyta Chairman of the Local Development Agency of Yavoriv district shared positive experience in implementing projects in this area. Secretary of Yavoriv City Council Pavlo Bakunets spoke of international technical assistance project of the European Union “Lubaczow – Yavoriv, two potentials – a joint chance.”

At the seminar also addressed the acting Head of Yavoriv District Administration Orest Hnyp, who spoke about his experience in realization of various projects, shared his own work plans for the new position and emphasized that he will promote collaborations between Yavoriv District Administration and public sector.
